When my husband and I go to a restaurant, we have a few criteria that they must meet before we park the car. Atmosphere, speed of food, and menu of course top the list. But there’s one thing that can throw the whole ranking system for a loop and make up for lost points… do they serve hot bread and butter the minute we sit down? If the answer is yes – there’s a strong likelihood we love said restaurant. And if they show up with a house bread and a flavored butter?! Well, now we’re sold! If you’re like me and love specialty breads and butters – then this recipe is for you. Its super quick, but amazingly it will jazz up any basket of bread (serve it with my crusty beer bread recipe found here!) and keep your guests begging for more. Just 3 ingredients and 2 minutes of prep time – I keep it on hand all the time!
Parmesan Onion Butter
- 1 stick salted butter
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese (grated)
- 2 tablespoons green onion (finely chopped)
|Let the butter soften at room temperature in a small mixing bowl. Chop onions and use a fork to stir into the butter, followed by the parmesan cheese. Stir until combined and fluffy. Store in an airtight container in the fridge. Serve at room temperature. |
